Death of Christopher Hitchens

Christopher Hitchens died on the day that US flag was lowered in Baghdad. From a revolutionary leftist to a neocon warmonger. I have no intention of writing an obituary right now and I don't think there's a lot to be said. Comrades at Hitchens Watch have been doing a wonderful job documenting his work as an apologist for imperialism all these years.

Thoughts on the election in Croatia

It was clear to everybody that on this election, Croatian Democratic Union will end up with worst results in the party's history. The fiasco of Jadranka Kosor's corrupt government was inevitable. However, I do not think that this new coalition made up of self-styled social democrats (an insult to the real social democrats who, despite being reformists, fought for a far more just and equal society than this) and left liberals will change anything. The system has proven itself to be an utter failure and parliamentary activity is a waste of time. We must organise in resistance to capitalism and replace liberal "democracy" (the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie) with the dictatorship of the proletariat which would be based on democratic workers' councils. That is the only true form of democracy - workers' democracy. I would also like to recommend a great article by comrade Juraj Katalenac - "Socijaldemokracijom protiv radnika" (With social democracy against the workers). Unfortunately, it is currently available only in Serbo-Croatian.

Sayf ul-Islam Qadhdhafi

Sayf-ul Islam has been captured in Ubari. In its well-known liberal tradition of respecting human rights, the salafist militia that arrested him chopped off three fingers of his right hand which is still a development considering that his father was anally raped and that it remains unclear whether he died as result of savage beating, stabbing or gunshot. But it had to be done that way, because Qadhdhafi might have said something that was not in the West's interest: he might have mentioned all those rifles that the UK was shipping him when he panicked because of his friends, Bin Ali and Mubarak, falling due to popular uprisings. Anyway, here are some facts about Sayf ul-Islam's recent activities:

- He has been hosted at Buckingham Palace (where he met with Prince Andrew in October 2007) and Windsor Castle by the British royal family.
- In 2009, he spent a weekend at Waddesdon Manor, home of Jacob Rothschild, where he was the guest of Lord Mandelson and Nathaniel Philip Rothschild (who attended Saif's birthday party in Montenegro that same year). Qadhdhafi's son later stayed at the Rothschild villa in Corfu, where he again met with the foregoing scion of this infamous family.
- He claims (the same claim was made by Qadhdhafi) Tony Blair is his personal friend.

Zionist state terrorism

The Zionist entity continues to conduct acts of state terrorism - it has violently hijacked the Canadian ship Tahrir and the Irish Saoirse. While most of the kidnapped crew is at this moment free and on Egyptian territories, 21 of them remain in Israeli prisons under harsh conditions. By the way, Anonymous has, reportedly, hacked the Zionist entity's government websites (IDF and MOSSAD sites are offline).

A Fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot

"Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologise for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine — the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, whereby those important events of the past, usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, are celebrated with a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than 400 years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest that you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot."
- V, in "V for Vendetta" (2006)

"A desperate illness requires a dangerous remedy."
- Guy Fawkes, 6 November 1605

Contrary to what has been widely reported, Anonymous is not a group. It is an idea. To paraphrase V, beneath the Guy Fawkes mask there is more than flesh - there is an idea. Another quote from this great film - "We are told to remember the idea, not the man, because a man can fail. He can be killed and forgotten. But four hundred years later an idea can still change the world." And we are trying to change it today, self-organising against capitalism, against the system based on hierarchy and not equality and on competition instead of solidarity. We are resisting its highest stage, imperialism, as well as neocolonialism and we are confronting its products, ableism, ageism, classism, heightism, lookism, mentalism, racism, religionism, sexism, sexualism, sizeism, speciesism and all other forms of social discrimination. To quote a sign from the #Occupy Belgrade protest on 15 October 2011 - "Solidarity is our strength!" (Solidarnost je naša snaga!).

We are Anonymous.
We are Legion.
We do not forgive.
We do not forget.
United as one.
Divided by zero.
Expect us.
Solidarity is our strength!
